The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer
The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer
The Montreal Protocol is an international treaty to protect the Earth’s ozone layer by phasing out (both the production and consumption) the chemicals that deplete it. This list captures the controlled substances such as chlorofluorocarbons, halons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, hydrobromofluorocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons, etc, from the Montreal Protocal Annex A-C, E, F.
Substances on MP are categorize in the sublists by Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) and Global Warming Potential (GWP) in this list:
- Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) greater than 0.2
- Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) less than 0.2
- Global Warming Potential (GWP) greater than 700
- Global Warming Potential (GWP) greater than 150
In addition, the Montreal and Kigali Amendments are also listed as additional sublists.
- Montreal Amendment - HCFCs Phase Out
- Kigali Amendment - HFCs Phase Down
*the official MP does not include CASRN, substances are assigned CASRN by Pharos staff if available. For entries of molecular formula, isomers are identified by PubChem search.
