The Dutch government tackles Substances of Very Concern ( ZZS Substances of Very High Concern ) with priority. ZZS are substances that are dangerous for people and the environment because they, for example, hinder reproduction, are carcinogenic or accumulate in the food chain.
People and ecosystems can come into contact with Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) through the environment (air, water or soil), food, the workplace, or through products such as household chemicals.
