OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a globally recognized, independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. It applies to textile and accessory materials, including non-textile components, recycled content, foams, mattresses, feathers, upholstery, and more.
Products are tested against a criteria catalogue of harmful substances. Annex 5 provides a detailed list of individual restricted substances and their CAS numbers that correspond to the Annex 4 testing requirements.
Note: stricter optional requirements available under Annex 6 for companies pursuing enhanced environmental performance (e.g., Detox to Zero alignment). The Annex 6 list is out of scope for this request.
The standard covers multiple product classes:
- Class I: Articles for babies (up to 36 months)
- Class II: Products with direct skin contact
- Class III: Products without direct skin contact
- Class IV: Decoration materials
Limit values are set for a variety of substances including formaldehyde, heavy metals, pesticides, chlorinated phenols, phthalates, bisphenols, PAHs, PFAS, flame retardants, VOCs, and numerous others, with detailed CAS listings in Annex 5.
