The Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances Produced or Imported in China (IECSC), published by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) in 2013 includes chemical substances that have been produced, imported, processed, used, or sold in China. New chemicals not listed in the IECSC are subject to environmental management registration before manufacture or import.
Products or substances below are exempted from IECSC but may be included in other regulatory lists:
- Radioactive substances
- Natural substances
- Substances that are manufactured for commercial purposes or unintentional use
- Alloys
- Non-industrial uses medicines, pesticides, cosmetics, food additives, feed, feed additives and fertilizers, etc.
