New Zealand Inventory of Chemicals
New Zealand Inventory of Chemicals
The New Zealand Inventory of Chemicals (NZIoC) was established in 2006 under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act (HSNO Act) to track and manage hazardous chemicals imported into, or manufactured in, New Zealand after 30 June 2006. The NZIoC is a collection of all hazardous single chemicals that can be used in products assigned to a group standard; it contains the substance name, the CAS number, the approval status, and how it can be used in a group standard. While the NZIoC was created to list all chemicals at that time, it is not mandatory to list non-hazardous chemicals.
All chemicals known by Te Mana Rauhī Taiao (NZ EPA) to be present in New Zealand, including non-hazardous chemicals where these have been notified, will be listed on the NZIoC. Chemicals listed on the confidential section will not be publicly available. Impurities and by-products will not be included on the NZIoC
