More about Curtain Wall Seals - Rubber (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) Gasket
Ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymer (EPDM) is frequently used to make curtainwall gaskets, which form a seal between the window portion of a curtainwall and the aluminum frame. This gasket is not adhered to the glass or the framing in order to allow for shifts and expansions due to temperature change. The seal between the glass and frame is therefore not water-tight, and curtainwall frames and gaskets can be designed in various shapes and/or include draining holes to properly direct rain water and prevent water damage to interiors.
