Acrylic plaster finishes are used as interior or exterior decorative finishes over drywall, masonry, or as a finish coat over other plasters. These plasters contain chemicals commonly found in other acrylic coatings along with aggregates such as quartz, marble, or limestone. Most acrylic plaster finishes reviewed for this CP rely on 100% acrylic binders, and many claim use of dirt pick-up resistance (DRP) technology. A function of the polymer, DRP technology results in a cured finish that is non-tacky and so keeps dirt from accumulating on the surface of the finish. The acrylic composition imparts elasticity and allows for use of a wider range of pigments compared to other plaster finishes. Various pigments other than white may be used depending on desired color and are not covered by this CP.
