Acrylic firestop sealants are used to seal interior and exterior construction joints and through-penetrations in fire-rated building partitions and assemblies to prevent the spread of flames, smoke, and gases. Sealants are elastomeric to accommodate joint movement and most are tested for up to 3-4 hours of fire resistance. They may also provide an acoustic barrier. This Common Product is for a white acrylic firestop sealant, though they are also commonly available in red, blue, and grey.
