One-component silicone sealants are comprised of silicon polymers, silicone oils, filler (typically limestone), biocides, and silanes that crosslink and cure these mixtures upon application in the presence of moisture. The most common systems, reflected in this record, are "neutral cure." "Neutral cure" sealants release methyl ethyl ketoxime, and are common in exterior applications, such as sealing door and window gaps, HVAC and other penetrations, as well as interior weathersealing applications. Acetyl cure systems, which release acetic acid, are more common in sanitary applications.
