ZDHC - MRSL v1.1
Zero Discharge Hazardous Chemicals Manufacturing Restricted Substances List v1.1
The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Programme provides guidance and tools to tackle the issue of hazardous chemicals in the global textile, leather and footwear value chain
The ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) v1.1 is a list of chemical substances banned under the ZDHC protocol from intentional use in facilities that process textile materials and trim parts in apparel and footwear. The MRSL establishes acceptable concentration limits for substances in chemical formulations used within manufacturing facilities. For more information on the list and the thresholds for manufacturing processes, see http://www.roadmaptozero.com/programme/manufacturing-restricted-substances-list-mrsl-conformity-guidance/
The limits are designed to eliminate the possibility of intentional use of listed substances. The intent of the MRSL is to manage the input of chemicals to the suppliers and remove those hazardous substances from the manufacturing process. It is a living document and will be updated as needed to expand the materials and processes covered and to add substances that should be phased out of the value chain.
The list represented here uses the explicit CASRN listed on the 2015 ZDHC MRSL as well as Pharos-derived lists of chemicals for the following groups:
- arsenic
- cadmium
- mercury
- lead
- chromium VI
- Mono-, di- and tri-methyltin derivatives
- Mono-, di- and tri-butyltin derivatives
- Mono-, di- and tri-phenyltin derivatives
- Mono-, di- and tri-octyltin derivatives
Two CASRN are included in the published ZDHC MRSL for PFOS. One is valid and the other (432-50-7) is not valid, so is not included.
